What is Decompression Therapy?
Innovated by Dr. James M. Cox, Cox Decompression is a gentle, non-force procedure that works with the body’s natural design to aid in proper healing. Cox Decompression is clinically proven to relieve neck pain, back pain, herniated discs, numbness/tingling, and sciatica. The decompression therapy is performed on a special table and administered by a trained professional.
How Does it Work?
During decompression therapy, pressure is removed from the discs, allowing fluids, nutrients, and oxygen to flow back into the disc. By reducing the pressure on the discs, a bulging or herniated disc is able to retract and pressure is relieved from the nerves. The nutrients flowing back into the disc can stop disc degeneration and actually heal tears in the disc’s annulus, or a ring-shaped part of the disc that acts like a hydraulic seal for the inner-disc area.
What are the Benefits?
Cox Decompression increases intervertebral disc height to remove tension from the discs and spinal nerve by making more room and increasing circulation. It also reduces pressure in the discs and restores vertebral joints to their original physiological relationships of motion.
